I run a Astatic 636 in the mobile i get good reports and best of all i dont have to keep replacin those 9 volt batterys

I run mainly RK 56's ( usually in the big rigger) . I also run Skythumper noise cancelling mics.

In my pickup or the four wheeler ( much quieter cab ) I use either an Astatic Road Devil , D104M6C , or a RF limited 2018 Extreme Nice TOY ! I have to "settle " many times . I work in a high crime area so most days I only run a small Uniden 510 . Most crooks won't bust your window out for one of these small radios . If I know for sure I'll be coming back home & not leaving my pick up in the ATL , I'll put one of my "better" radios in the pickup .
I have found that the power mics work well on the small Unidens . These radios come stock with a Capacitance disharge/ Electret condenser mic & the power mic really makes these little radios sound BIG ! I get more compliments on this little Uniden than I do some of my "Big Radios ".

I won some money off of a driver who didn't believe I was talking on one of the little shirt pocket radios ! He crapped his pants when he saw it . I had the RF 2018 EXTREME on it that day & HE WAS BLOWN AWAY !
I go thru stages where I get tired of hearing everyone with echo & I'll just go with the D104M6C ......Just loud & CLEAR AUDIO ! It 's rare to Hear a LOUD & CLEAR radio w/ NO ECHO !

I run a d104m6 most of the time in my big truck. I am kinda like Live Wire i jump around playing with mics on different radios. As for the 4-wheeler i run a rk56.
Live Wire have you had good luck with your Skythumper Mic? I just picked one up from a purchase that i got and haven't had time to play with it just wondering what your two cents are about that mic

Chops I own three of them with NO failures or problems . They do have more gain than the RK 56 with a similar bass-y tone . They are not as strong as the RK on the Noise cancelling BUT, they work very well and have more GAIN if your cab is not super noisy . We have some old tractors that are really LOUD in the cab & I think the RK is better in that situation. Overall , I am satisfied with the quality & tone . The body of the mic is exactly the same as the RK so, if you don't like the RK key button --- YOU won't like the SKYTHUMPER .

I just bought a ASTATIC D104M6B to use the custom 29 that dodgem is building me. I haven't used it yet as I am still in iraq but in a little while I will be using. I had a 29bt before I left which didn't have any options for mic's. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks live wire, everyone does their does their part. I acutally envy truckers. I have always wanted to do a few year gig as a cross country trucker. Then maybe a local route doing fuel or something. My wife probally wouldn't like that though. My uncle is a trucker he started out doing cross country and now just does a local route as a fuel hauler. I have never been good at talk on the radio mostly I listen everyone can tell that I am not a trucker but somtimes I get some good conversation. You know what they say when the truckers stop America stops.

i use astatic 636 on all my radios.. 2 mobiles and both base stations..

636 is a GOOD MIC too there , 413 !!! 73's to ya in the OKIE !

For most of my rigs It has to be the Super Star DM 507. Good clean audio, OH YEAH!
